Good friends of ours, the Clark family from Hampstead, NH, needs our help.
Mackenzie Clark, their 17 year old daugther, was struck by a car on October 19th. She had just parked her car in a lot near the high school she attends, and was crossing the street with her younger sister who was just a few steps behind her, when a driver struck her with her car - sending Mackenzie onto the hood and then 15 feet through the air after slamming on the brakes.
Mackenzie's injuries are widespread, with numerous fractures to her skull, back, pelvic bones, and knee, as well as other injuries. As you can imagine, she is suffering greatly, yet her very long road to recovery has begun. The scans and medical assessments have shown that there has been no neurological damage, and her knee has been operated on. The path to physical therapy will be intense and lengthy, but there is great anticipation for her to regain her strength and function normally again in the future.
For that - we are all so very grateful. Mackenzie is a fighter, and one tough cookie.
This unfortunate accident has also taken quite a toll on the entire family. Elizabeth, Kenzie's Mom has been at her side since the accident, and has been through a tremendous amount of stress and worry of course.
Although Elizabeth is able to get the time off from her job to help her daughter, she will not be paid for the leave time. The family relies on her income for their busy family of six, and her time off is already adding more stress to this awful situation. Anyone that knows this family adores them, and has been touched by their love and generosity for friends and family.
Please help make a contribution to the Clark family that will ease the financial burden so that Elizabeth can remain by Mackenzie's side for as long as needed to get her moving again, and focus on giving her the love and extra attention she needs at this time.
We cannot thank you enough!!
