Anna Sharpe has been battling advanced cancer for over a year . Her doctors all agree that a living donor liver transplant is her best and only option for long term survival, and even better, a possible cure for her cancer . This surgery is relatively new in the United States for cancer patients. It is being performed at the Mayo Clinic and Rochester, NY . Anna is blessed to be a candidate for this surgery!
The liver is the only organ with the possibility of regeneration . Because of this, a healthy individual is able to donate a section of their liver. This “piece” will actually grow inside of the recipient and should provide
normal liver function! The remaining “piece” will also regenerate inside the donor within a short period of time and actually grow back to its original size .
Anna has a potential living donor and she is simply asking for the funds to pay for their travel expenses, missed wages, and any additional costs for this individual. This donor is truly a living angel! Anna’s immediate family is unable to donate their liver(s) so she has looked to friends and the community for support . This potential donor is willing to have surgery and donate part of their liver in hopes of saving Anna’s life. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated.
Again, all money raised for this transplant will be given to the donor for uncovered expenses related to the transplant. Anything you can give is greatly appreciated. If you can’t give, please share.
