McKinney Fire Recovery for Robyn and Grandpa

The McKinney wildfire has devastated the entire town of Klamath River, California, my mom Robyn and her 91-year-old father Robert (grandpa) were no exception. They lost their entire home and all their belongings.

Robyn has been an active member of the Klamath River community since moving there over 30 years ago. Since moving to the river Robyn has raised her family, still volunteers on the local fire department, supports the Klamath River Community Hall, and works at the Klamath River school. She loves her community and is overwhelmed at her loss and the loss all her friends and family have experienced due to this tragic wildfire.

My grandfather moved in with my mom 12 years ago and together they have lived a quiet humble life on the river surrounded by the community they love. This wildfire has forever changed their future. Due to my grandfather's age, health and safety needs, he has already had to move closer to family in southern California and is living in a home that can provide for his daily care.

Robyn is well known in the community for cooking pancake breakfasts at the community hall, responding to emergency calls, or delivering mail to the residents along the river. These days she spends her time working at the Klamath River school driving a bus route, making lunches for students and staff all while running the front office. She is always ready to help people in the community and beyond. She has not only lost her home and the ability to care for her father, but her job is in limbo due to the unimaginable destruction that hit the community.

Anything we can do to help Robyn and Robert get back on their feet and figure out a new way forward would be much appreciated.
