Endometriosis is an inflammatory disease where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside of the uterus. This tissue attaches itself to surrounding organs and can cause organ disfunction. It causes Endo belly, which is from inflammation of the pelvis and bowels. It is a build up of gas and fluid which is very painful. I have struggled with endometriosis for 9 years, and was finally diagnosed last year. Endometriosis does not have a cure, but rather different methods for pain management. I had surgery March 2021, but unfortunately that surgery made things worse. The pain I experience daily is sometimes unbearable. I am so thankful to have gotten in with a specialist in Atlanta who will be performing excision of the endometriosis in hopes to relieve some pain. The endometriosis has spread to my bowels and intestines, so he will likely be performing a bowel resection. We believe it is on my diaphragm and lungs so he will be checking for that. There are several other procedures he will be performing while I am in surgery. Unfortunately, he is out of network for my insurance so I will be responsible for all of his bill, and half of the hospital bill as well as a place to stay for the week I will be in Atlanta. I have been instructed to prepare to take two months off work, so I will need to pay my bills for those two months while I am unable to work. These expenses are more than I can even try to chip away at anytime soon. I have no other option but to ask my community to help support me during this time of recovery and healing. I appreciate your love and support
