Hello, my name is Amber, I've been friends with Mckenzie since elementary school, and with permission from her family, I have set up this GoFundMe on her behalf.

As many of you know Mckenzie has had issues with her kidneys and pancreas her whole life to the point she had to attend dialysis several times a week over the past few years. As a mom, many can only imagine the hardship that has caused her family due to the weekly drives to Bangor, and the inability to hold a full-time job thus causing the search for a donor to begin, at least just for a kidney.. But no one had been a match, until Monday.

Monday afternoon Mckenzie got the call she had been dreaming of for years. “We have a donor come to Boston now” With no time to spare Mckenzie and her mother rushed to Boston. After arriving at the hospital they rushed Mckenzie into surgery receiving BOTH a kidney and pancreas. A surgery her family had been dreaming of yet so scared for at the same time. After an 8-hour procedure, they were told all went well (YAY!!!! )

Now Mckenzie’s newest battle has begun. Keeping healthy while staying in Boston. Her family and friends have done research but have not found any affordable leads for a place to stay down there so she can attend her many appointments in the months to come. Hospitality housing has been mentioned but with that, she would be staying in someone else's home. Mckenzie is autoimmune and can't take that chance, unfortunately.

I'm trying to help her family raise enough money to keep Mckenzie where she needs to be so she can come home to her sweet baby boy as a healthy and happy mama ❤️
