McKenna just turned 11 this summer, and has been offered a position on the Elyria Next Frontier Softball team! Next Frontier is a 11U/12U travel team working in collaboration with the high school coaches to build a competitive local program that is a foundation for long term player development.
This is a GIANT opportunity for McKenna, and we couldn’t be more proud of the courage it took to try out after a year off from local rec play. She gave her all to earn a place with this amazing group of girls and coaches. In order to make this happen, we are reaching out for any financial help to set her up for success.
Mckenna starts Fall ball mid-August, and will be practicing 2-3 times a week over the winter, including tournaments, followed by spring/summer 2026 league play. Traveling, hotels, gas and parking fees will all be out of pocket, and add up fast.
On top of the player fees, McKenna’s equipment is in need of replacement, basically from top to bottom. Cleats, sliding shorts, mitt, bat bag; all of it has been lovingly used to death. Our goal is to get her outfitted with moderately priced gear she can be comfortable with for the year.
This is a personal fundraiser, outside of any fundraising that the team will be doing. However, if you or any business you know of can sponsor the team, donate gift cards or items for baskets, etc, we are happy to pass that information along to the coaches, and help the team as a whole.
Lastly, if we can meet our goal of $1800 by Halloween, McKenna would like to donate $100 to the YWCA of Elyria to help with outreach to the unhoused and food insecure.
This is an entire year she has committed to, and our first experience as a family with such an intense program. Any funds unused will be put into a family sports account to help with the following seasons or to help the team with related fundraising. Let’s help McKenna do this thing!
