In McKay’s final months on earth, he often spoke about his hopes and dreams for his family. Rarely did he think of himself. While McKay made it to many of his favorite places on earth before he past, one of his final dreams was to return to the land of his heritage with every member of his immediate family.

As McKay contemplated on the many costs involved with funeral services, his hope was that people spend less on flowers and more (if anything) toward his family achieving his dream—making it to Norway.
