Donation protected
The goal of the McKay Adventure Club is to empower students through outdoor leadership opportunities that students might not otherwise have access to. All of our students live in the city, and most of our students had never canoed, camped, hiked, snowshoed, or even slept away from home before this year. Adventure Club (in partnership with AMC's YOP program) has provided all of these experiences, plus skill building and leadership opportunities, to our students free of cost. It is a priority for us to keep this club accessible to all students, but in order to do that we need your help!
With your donation, we could expand our program to include more participants and expose students to even more outdoor leadership opportunities while making sure our club stays free of cost to our students and families. Next year we hope to go cross country skiing, hike on longer backpacking trips, and purchase more equipment to teach students outdoor skills.
Our students say:
“We need to raise money so we can go on fun trips. And so we can buy transportation so every kid can go on the trip. We have gone on very fun trips like noble view outdoor center, it was also a overnight trip. we also went to belle isle marsh.we also did a hike in the blue hills.we also went canoeing at Ponkapoag Pond.We slept over at cardigan. We learned how to build tents, snow shoe, grill. With this money we will be able to learn how to use life skills outside and in the environment and use new skills in different environments. We will also use this money to buy new equipment so we don’t have to borrow it. City people don’t usually get this opportunity in the city. So we can use this money to to have a good experience and we can expand our group for new kids to come.”
