Thank you for taking the time to read our story.
My name is Loudette and I am the eldest daughter of Evelyn. My family and I are humbly asking for some financial help to continue to support Mama's battle against Leukemia and Myelofibrosis.
My mother was diagnosed to have Myelofibrosis since 2012. It is a form of chronic blood cancer which makes the bone marrow hard and unable to produce red blood cells. Despite that she was in good health until the beginning of 2021. She started to lose weight and became weaker than usual. Her disease progressed and she was started on all possible medications since August of 2021. We have since been in and out of hospital for weekly blood transfusions, every two weeks when we're lucky. She has been fighting for more than a year. There are good days, but unfortunately there are also the bad ones. Two weeks ago was one of her worst. She had a really bad pneumonia and the infection reached her bloodstream. At the same time, her doctor confirmed that her Myelofibrosis has now progressed to Leukemia. As of this writing, she is still in hospital and other complications have risen.
As much as I don't want to bother or burden anyone of Mama's medical expenses, we have been financially stretched over the last year. Her medications alone cost Php 60,000 monthly. One blood transfusion session costs around Php 10,000 and she has been requiring it weekly. Her current admission in the hospital is another challenge as so many different tests had to be done and her infection still hasn't cleared. She also needs to undergo Chemotherapy at some point and ultimately a Bone Marrow Transplant. It is still a very long journey.
We are humbly asking for your help. We will be eternally grateful for anything that you can extend. We also ask that you include her in your prayers and for everyone to plead to God for the miracle of healing.
Thank you and God bless you.
