McDougall Support Fund

As many of you now know, our friends, the McDougalls, have been having a tough time since Bruce was found last year to have Multiple Myeloma.  Although he was initially able to continue working, that is not currently possible for Bruce, and with that comes the added fiscal burdens you might expect.  

Currently, there is no cure for Multiple Myeloma. Initial attempts to treat Bruce have not seen encouraging results, but the latest protocol is finally beginning to offer some promise!  Unfortunately, they have to travel from their home to Gainesville, Florida routinely for treatment and visits to the oncology specialist, and this means increased expenses for hotel, gas, food, and simple wear and tear on their vehicles, not to mention the toll it takes on both Bruce and Lynda.  Their boys, Gregg and Tyler, are helping out in every way they can, but it’s still a tough road ahead.

When things look their toughest, we ought to be able to count on our friends, so we are reaching out to all who will listen on behalf of this family.  We feel this forum would be a great way for us to provide Bruce and Lynda a modest respite from some of the financial pressures heaped upon them by their current circumstances.  Many of you have participated in similar efforts in the past, and will be quite comfortable doing so again here.  If you are  not as comfortable using a format like this one, you can be a great encouragement to Bruce and his family by simply putting a card or letter in the mail to encourage him in his fight against MM.  If that card/letter is able to include some monetary support, all the better, but either way reaching out is a great way to let Bruce, Lynda, and the whole family know you’re there for them.
