Hi I am Irah from the Philippines and I've been away in my home country for almost 8years and I am currently living in Canada for almost 3 years already.

I am raising funds for my Dad Manolito " Manny " V. got diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma. It all started with a swollen lymph nodes on the right side of his neck and 10 months after the tumor gets bigger than a tennis ball. He was admitted for a surgery called Tracheostomy in order for him to breath properly and Gastronomy tube insertion on his stomach for his food intake because the tumor is narrowing his airway and foodway. After the surgery, he went for more CT-Scans, Laboratorys and Biopsys.

After all the test and laboratory the Doctor diagnosed him with Squamous Cell Carcinoma and he needs to under go sessions of Chemotheraphy and after Chemotheraphy will be radiation to help shrink the tumor on his Neck. Unfortunately, in the Philippines, there is no universal healthcare to cover these critical procedures. Everything from diagnostics to surgery to aftercare must be paid out of pocket, a burden too heavy for our family to carry alone.

I had always hoped that one day I can repay my mom and my dad in any ways after all the sacrifices they made for me.

I haven't seen my family for years as I am working abroad from one country to another country. Helping him now means giving him the chance to win againts cancer, to keep going, to be there when we reunite, to hold on for more memories with our family. It could mean that when I come home with his new Granddaughter, he'll be there waiting for us.
