McDaniel Family Camp Fire Victims

My Dad, who is a local firefighter was able to rush home Thursday morning to help us evacuate. By the time that he got to our house the wildfire was already on our street. My mom, brother, and I only had minutes to leave and escape the fire. While my dad tried to make the house a bit more fire safe we grabbed what we could from the house. When the fire was two houses away my dad ordered us to leave. I stuffed my dog in our car and we left. Fortunately my Dad had us take a back route that avoided much of the insane traffic. It was so scary. The sky was dark and the sun was gone. Fire was now everywhere and everyone was in a panic. I thank God that my dad is a firefighter. As we left Paradise and were safe, my Dad sent us down the hill to Chico and told us that he was going back into the wildfire to evacuate more people and do what he could.
Our neighborhood is gone. As there are no loner any rental homes in the area, in order for my dad to keep his job, we will be forced to buy some property and build a new home. My mom is disabled and we are a single income family. This disaster is not something we are prepared to do. Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated. We have hope that we will get back on our feet, but it will be awhile.
Thank You.
