We are two brothers from a family of seven children. We have both discerned a vocation to the priesthood with the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest. The formation of the future ICKSP priests takes place at their international seminary near Florence in Italy and lasts for seven years.
Here we are, at the left of the photo, singing at midnight mass...

Michael: I am 22 years old. I am starting my fifth year at seminary, my second year of Theology, in which I will continue to deepen my knowledge of the mysteries of the faith. I have many duties at seminary ranging from the guest service and cooking to singing and playing the organ.
This is my ordination to the minor order of exorcist...

...and here I am singing during a Blessed Sacrament Procession at seminary.

Joseph: I am 20 years old, this September I will begin my third year at seminary, my second year of Philosophy, this will complete the preparation to begin the study of Theology next year. The rigorous academic programme also includes subjects such as Sacred History and Gregorian chant formation. Besides my studies I have been working in the seminary workshop where we do maintenance and repairs and I have also been singing in the schola for Holy Mass.
Here I am, second from the left in the back row with the other seminarians from my year...

The Institute
A day in the life of the Seminary of Saint Philip Neri in Tuscany.
The Institute consists of priests and oblates who live in community, chanting the Divine Office together, and who have an active apostolate around the world, spreading the Gospel. You can find out more information about the Institute by clicking on this link: Institute Presentation Booklet.
Us on a seminary outing...

How you can help
The Institute is not a religious order, and so, as with other seminaries, the seminarians of the Institute are asked to fund their own priestly training and basic necessities such as; books, cassocks, other clothes, and transportation costs. Unfortunately we do not have the means available to finance our studies and the other aspects necessary for seminary training.
The seminary fees are approximately €8500 (or £7000) each per annum, and the studies last for seven years. So we would be most grateful for any material support you are able to offer. We also greatly appreciate your prayers, and be assured of ours. May God bless you!
In Christo Rege,
Abbés Michael & Joseph McCowen
