On Sunday morning, July 7, 2019, the McCarter family lost its beloved husband and father, Dr. Matthew McCarter. This fund has been established in his memory to benefit his wife, three sons and daughter.
Matthew was an Associate Professor and Director of the PhD Program in Management & Organizations at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). He joined UTSA in 2013, gaining promotion and tenure in 2015, and was appointed director of the PhD program in 2018. He was a very productive scholar and a highly esteemed researcher in his field. Matt was also recognized as an outstanding teacher, having received the University of Texas Regent’s Outstanding Teacher Award and induction into the UTSA Academy of Distinguished Teaching Scholars, both in 2016.
Matthew was a wonderful colleague, providing support and friendship to many. He was known to offer a kind word and a helping hand to those in need. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Most importantly, Matthew was a devoted husband and father. Each of us not only grieves at the passing of such a wonderful friend and colleague, but also for the loss suffered by his family. Our hearts go out to them collectively at this very difficult time.
This fund has been established by Matthew's colleagues and friends at UTSA and will be used solely to benefit his family.
