On the night of October 15th, 2026, Dave Insel experienced the total loss of his home to a fire. Dave escaped with no injuries, but has literally lost everything.

Mr. Insel, or "Mr. Dave" as he is affectionately known by his students and colleagues, is a long time teaching assistant at McCallum High School in Austin, Tx. For over 20 years, he has served the special education population at McCallum, working closely with our students with Autism and in our Life Skills program. He also hosts our Roll Playing Games Club, giving generously much of his free time to support our students.

Dave has owned his home in northern Crestview for many decades, but it has been deemed a total loss. He has also lost his vehicle. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

If you know Mr Dave, you have been on the recieving end of his kindness and patience. This kind of loss, even with insurance, is very expensive. Mr. Dave has lost everything he has spent his life building, as he escaped with only the clothes on his back.

Any contribution you can make will help Mr. Dave with meals, insurance costs, and recovery, as he faces rebuilding his life from scratch.
