Hello,
My name is Joanna and I am asking for your help . Tuesday December 26 at 4 am I woke up to Foxy throwing up. She had an uncontrollable bowel movement on herself and couldn’t walk or even stand. I brought her to the nearest 24 hour Animal Hospital. When she arrived she continued to vomit and have bloody diarrhea for two days straight. The prognosis was that she had HGE (Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis) her vomiting caused aspirated pneumonia. The veterinarian’s assured me that neither of these conditions were death sentences, but they continued to have news about her decline. They decided to put her in an oxygen chamber and her oxygen levels continued to decline. They were preparing me to ‘make a decision.’ Despite the grim outlook, Foxy made it through the night. She received a plasma transfusion the next day as they were worried about her levels. This is where the turning point came where there seemed to be hope that Foxy would make it through! They weened her off of oxygen dependency. She stayed one more night and would be released as soon as she could eat on her own.
Foxy is now home with me, but the aftermath of her lifesaving treatments is stressful. The total spent on 5days in the hospital, diagnostics, x-rays, constant IV fluids, plasma transfusions, antibiotics, and take home medication came out to $9,600.
It is quite ridiculous, but Foxy is worth every penny if I get to spend more time with her. To know her is to love her and I was not ready to let go of my best friend.
please donate if you can ♥️♥️♥️
