Dear Theater Lovers,
On behalf of the entire international MC² Actors Studio ensemble, we hope this finds you and your loved ones well during this holiday season! We are reaching out to ask for your help in launching MC² Actors Studio Repertory Theatre Company's world premiere production of “Over The F#(%!ng Rainbow, Somewhere” scheduled to open in Los Angeles on February 11th, 2022. Our play, written and directed by Mario A. Campanaro and starring Ashley Murray and Holly Hubbell, is a dark comedy that takes us on an emotional rollercoaster with two very colorful yet complex individuals, Cat and Bridger, both trying desperately to survive and overcome inexplicable trauma the best way they know how. The two meet under extraordinary circumstances and as a bunch of unlikely events unfold, they find much to their resistance and surprise, another human being in this (as Cat and Bridger would put it) “F#(%!ng world ” with whom they can connect to.
MC² Actors Studio Repertory Theatre Company is an international professionally-oriented theater company geared toward offering and showcasing MC² Actors Studio ensemble members, through an audition process, the opportunity to work on and in high standard theatrical productions and perform for live and/or virtual audiences/industry professionals around the globe.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, MC² Actors Studio had to make the difficult yet inevitable decision to close our physical studio doors and work hard to open a new set of virtual doors via Zoom. And though we struggled with the unknown, something incredible happened. The lockdown gave us the opportunity to expand the studio and its classes from Los Angeles, New York City and London to ensemble members from all over the globe including Australia, Belgium, France, Germany, Japan, Kenya, Nigeria and Scotland to name a few.
As is so often the case in the life of the artist, we adjusted, adapted and made the creative conscious decision to do all we can to continue our work in this new world of Zoom while still upholding all of our professional standards of truth, authenticity, exploration, sophistication and artistic integrity. We refused to give up! We at MC² Actors Studio believe that artists are essential and we will always be committed to creating a professional studio environment for serious-minded professional actors to train, study and exercise their craft along side others that hold the same love, respect, passion, investment and commitment for the work.
Needless to say, after over a year and a half working in the online platform, we are so excited to take our first steps back into our physical theater venue. We all know how absolutely thrilling it is to be able to collaborate, create, and experience the magic of live theater. And with that, we also know how much passion and hard work it takes to get a production on its feet.
Our appeal to you today is to help raise essential funds for MC² Actors Studio Repertory Theater Company’s world premiere production of “Over The F#(%!ng Rainbow, Somewhere” opening in Los Angeles on February 11th, 2022.
