Help Jess beat Cancer Round #2 - $40K for 40!
Donation protected
Friends, family, acquaintances, supporters, fellow cancer survivors, yogis, kind souls… we are asking for your help for our friend Jessica Huneycutt as she starts her second battle with breast cancer. She turned 40 years old on April 8, 2022, and began 5 months of aggressive chemotherapy on April 20. That will be followed by radiation and subsequent treatment.
Jess is a single mother living with her 13-year-old son in New Orleans. She’s a self-employed yoga instructor who has volunteered countless hours to local youth and charitable organizations, teaching yoga at summer camps as well as volunteering and fundraising for the local chapter of the American Cancer Society. Her specialized training in yoga, martial arts, and movement has allowed her to work with private clients, veterans, children, and those recovering from injuries or surgeries. Since 2016, Jess has also had the honor of working as the yoga instructor for the New Orleans Saints.
As Jess will be in and out of the hospital several days a week dealing with fatigue, nausea and other side effects of her treatment, she will be unable to work consistently in order to provide basic needs for her and her son. That’s why we are graciously asking for your help in offering her financial support during this difficult time.
Donations made to this page will be used for the following immediate needs:
-$15k towards a reliable, working vehicle
-$20k living costs over the next year of treatment. While Medicaid should cover most of her direct treatment costs, Jess is a self-employed yoga teacher. She hopes to continue teaching as soon as possible, and pay your generosity forward.
-$5k In home help during treatment: help with cooking, cleaning, errands, etc.
Non-monetary donations - someone willing to donate a car, or help with errands, are more than welcome. Any help could make a world of difference to Jess and her son.
If you don’t already know Jess and want to learn more about her, her first struggle with cancer was documented and shared nationally by the NFL Network to raise cancer awareness - that video can be viewed here: NFL Crucial Catch
Jessica’s life's calling is to serve others, and she sincerely hopes to continue pursuing this work. She has spent years dedicating her life to others and now humbly asks for your help in her time of need.
