Support Lisa Lockhart's Recovery Journey

On January 26, I received a call and was advised that my youngest sister, Lisa, was in the hospital on life support. Lisa had gone into surgery for a normal procedure that should have taken a few days to recover, but the operation caused Lisa to become septic with fungus in her blood and a terrible infection in her stomach. I'm in my 60s and I have never seen such an infection, and with Lisa's wound being left open "to heal," we were not sure if she would survive. She has had 5 operations to help get rid of the infections, a blood clot, kidney infection, and the highest antibiotics and pneumonia. This has been a very long process and we even called it a terrible "roller coaster ride," where one day she showed signs of improvement and the next day, it went down from there. We prayed and asked family and friends to pray, and we have been blessed. God answered our prayers and we thank each and every one of you that prayed and never gave up hope for my sister. After 6 weeks of fighting, Lisa improved and was sent to a rehab facility. I will never forget when Lisa finally opened her eyes. Lisa's daughter, Courtney, has been with her mom every step of the way from day one. The sleepless nights, prayers, and all the worries. At one point, she was facing the fact she may have to make a final decision! Courtney has not been able to work to be with her mom and has been without pay. Due to insurance issues, Lisa is getting released from the rehab center next week. Lisa's care will become very expensive once she is sent home. She is still unable to care for herself. She cannot walk on her own, with only a few steps with a walker. She will require oxygen due to the long issue of not breathing on her own and will have to continue with antibiotics. Financial help is needed for Lisa's care and to help her recover from this terrible ordeal. Anything you are willing to donate is very appreciated. God bless!
