I never thought I’d be in this position, but I need your help. My children and I were recently in a car accident—we were rear-ended by a driver who had no insurance. My car was totaled, and now we are left without transportation, making it incredibly difficult to get to work and take my kids to school.

This experience has been overwhelming, not just financially but emotionally as well. Losing my car has completely upended our daily lives, and on top of that, getting back on the freeway has been incredibly hard after the crash. The fear and anxiety of driving again after such a traumatic experience is something I’m still working through.

What’s even more frustrating is that California law requires every driver to have at least liability insurance—yet somehow, people continue to get away with not having it. Meanwhile, responsible drivers like me are left to deal with the consequences, struggling to recover with no real accountability for those at fault. It’s hard to understand how this can happen, but right now, I have no choice but to push forward for my kids.

As a working mom, my car is essential for keeping our lives on track. I work hard to provide for my family, and this unexpected setback has put a huge strain on us. Unfortunately, the driver who hit us isn’t being held accountable, and now I’m left figuring out how to replace my vehicle and manage transportation costs on my own.
