It is with deep sadness that I share the passing of my beloved mother on Wednesday, the 24th of September. She leaves behind four children, including my youngest brother who is only 12 years old.

My mother had me at just 16 years old, and despite all the challenges she faced, she gave us everything she could including allowing me to travel at a very young age to live and meet my father in Portugal . She wasn’t even 50 yet when her life was tragically cut short.

Many of you who know me personally know my story — I left Angola at the age of 8 in 2001 to live with my father, and I grew up without my mother by my side. In 2019, at the age of 26, I was finally able to return and surprise her, a moment I will cherish forever.

Sadly, over the past year my mother’s health declined, leaving her unable to move or carry out many of life’s daily tasks. On Monday, the 22nd of September, she suffered a relapse and was rushed to hospital. Despite being placed in intensive care, she tragically passed away two days later.

In life, we can make many plans, but only God knows and decides our fate.

We are now faced with the difficult task of arranging her funeral in Angola and ensuring that my younger sibling is taken care of during this devastating time. All donations will go directly towards her funeral expenses and supporting my brother’s care.

If you are able to contribute or share, it would mean the world to us. Every bit of support, no matter how small, will help us give my mother the farewell she deserves and provide comfort for her children during this heartbreaking time.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your love, kindness, and generosity.
