Hello, this is Max. Max is a 1-year-old Yorkshire Terrier who's had quite the journey. Max was recently diagnosed with a liver shunt and bladder stones. This diagnosis requires surgery and medical care management for the rest of his life.
Max’s previous owner made a difficult decision to give up Max due to her diagnosis with terminal cancer. Max was ready to go to another home, but due to unforeseen circumstances, the adoption was not successful. That’s when I stepped in and decided to take in Max. In April of 2025, my family and I said goodbye to our beloved dog Kona. As we were grieving the death of Kona, the thought of getting another dog wasn’t even in our mind. Then Max came along; we couldn’t allow him to be bounced from home to home. Max has been such a light to our family and has helped heal our hearts in an unexpected way. In the short time we’ve had Max, he has created a bond with our other Yorkie, Buddy. Buddy and Kona were the best of friends. Buddy especially had a difficult time with the loss of Kona. Buddy took Max under his wing, and now those two are attached at the hip, and every day their bond strengthens.
We want to give Max a fighting chance. He is so young and still has a whole life to live. As much as I wish I could cover this on my own, it’s more than I can afford right now. I want to do everything I can to give Max the chance to heal and live a happy, healthy life.
If you’re able to donate — any amount helps — I would be deeply grateful. And if you’re unable to give, just sharing this page means the world to us.
Thank you for your time, and I hope we can get Max the care he needs!
