For our beautiful mum friend Georgie Sayers…

This is something we never imagined we would have to write, but for our dearest Thirsty who is a big part of our mum group called the Thirsty Thursday’s, we want to get her the much-needed medical help she needs to prolong her life for as long as possible. To carry on being the wonderful mummy that she is and not to see the children without her.

We know she is a much-loved member of the Walton on the Hill community and a very much loved teacher at Walton on the Hill Primary, and we are sure you will feel the same as us and want to help in funding her treatment.

As many of you know Georgie was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer back in February 2024 and has endured many rounds of chemotherapy and radiation therapy under the Royal Marsden in Sutton, all the while being her usual loving, vibrant and bubbly self. She is a selfless mum looking after her three beautiful children with hubby Dave and her family, many of whom visit from Mallorca as much as possible to be with them all.

She has just had the devastating news that the cancer has spread even further.

As a group of friends, we just want to get her more time with her family and to enjoy more of her very young life. We all want to see her smiling face around the village, teaching in the school…. and just being our fun mum friend, who would dance all night if she could!

We are looking for funding to seek some treatment in Germany, a personalised immunotherapy where treatment leverages your body’s own immune system to target cancer cells, particularly effective where the body has been resistant to traditional chemo, this treatment has had a very good outcome, but as we know this nasty cancer doesn’t wait around and we need to try and get as much funding as we can, as soon as possible.

The cost of appointments, treatments and medications (as well as travel and accommodation) is going to cost a pretty penny each round of therapy costs around £30,000 however if this treatment is unsuccessful or not viable, there are other treatments options available that we will investigate.

If at any point it is clear that the treatment options available to Georgie are not possible in prolonging her life the funding will be used to look after Georgie to make her as comfortable as possible and to create some treasured memories with Dave and her children.

Which is why we have, with Georgie’s permission, set up this page. She needs all the help and any support you can offer to open as many doors as we can to life-extending options and to buy her more time.

We know it’s hard for everyone at the moment, but anything will help her cause.
