My father, David Noel Mestaz Jr., unexpectedly passed away on October 18, 2025, in Eugene, Oregon. He was found unresponsive outside by an unknown male. Two days prior, he was hit by a vehicle while riding his bicycle and had a major concussion. They will not perform an autopsy (which I'm pushing for). They refused to check for internal injuries, only external, the coroner stated.

Dave is from Montpelier, Idaho, where he is well known. My goal is to bring him back home; that's all I want. Any donations towards a burial would be greatly appreciated. If we cannot meet that goal, cremation is fine as well, and we can do a small burial in Montpelier of his ashes. Services will be announced soon.

We need to make it to Oregon by Wednesday to claim his body and belongings as I am his only next of kin. Before they take him to the state examiner of their choice and the price is out of our hands. Any help towards traveling expenses would be super appreciated. I live in Ogden, Utah; he is in Eugene, Oregon. I am most definitely lost on what to do right now. I've never gone through this nor lost a parent.

Dave was loved by many. He was a one-of-a-kind guy. He wasn't physically in my life for long, but he left the biggest impact on me forever. He was the funniest person I knew. Rest in peace, Daddy.
