I am a single mother with an 11 year old daughter who lives in Lauderhill, Florida in Broward County. I was employed with works a company called MCJ, a janitorial company, where my responsibilities were to clean the public restroom(s) located at the various city parks in Broward County, Florida. I was required to work at night from 9:00 p.m. - 8:00 a.m., and I would travel between the various public parks and clean the restrooms while the parks were closed seven (7) days per week often for more than 40 hours.
I was attacked during the evening of January 27, 2015 by a homeless person while cleaning the restrooms located at Weaver Park in the City of Pompano Beach. The homeless person came into the bathroom while I was cleaning it and attacked me with a 12 inch butcher knife. I fought for my life but sustained serious injuries which include many stab wounds and I lost sight in my eye as a result of him stabbing my eye. I am now forced to have my eye removed and replaced with a prosthetic eye.
I would appreciate any help and assistance since I will have many medical bills and lost wages as a result of this horrible incident. I am happy to be alive but am scared about the future and my ability to care for myself and my daughter. I have hired a lawyer, Michael S. Elstein, of the Elstein Law Firm, who is helping my family pursue any and all viable legal claims I may have against my employer, MCJ, and /or other entities such as the City of Pompano Beach.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT. GOD BLESS.
