Marion Barker's Autobiography
Donation protected
My dad, Marion Barker, was amazing in every way. He was such a talented musician that he got to play with artists such as Michael Jackson and Aretha Franklin. He was also the first African-American in the Macon Symphony Orchestra and came in at no less than Principal Chair Trombonist. More than this he was a great man who loved everyone he met. Everyone who met him would comment on how gracious and joyous he was, he kept this attitude despite his bad health and a rough childhood in the ghettoes of Atlanta, GA. He passed away the 29th of May, 2015 and we are absolutely heartbroken. Before he passed, he had spent most of his time working on an autobiography. He wanted it to be an inspiration to anyone who was going through a rough time; that they could make it through. My dad wanted it to be his legacy, something he left behind for us. My family would like to fulfill this last wish for him.
