My year in Israel

Hi my name is Yoneena Heit and I am a graduating high school senior from St. Louis, MO. I have spent the last few year learning and growing in my Jewish knowledge and faith. One of the critical components of becoming the Jewish woman I need and want to become, is to immerse myself in an intensive year of Judaic study in a woman's seminary in Israel. Machon Maayan will give me the tools to become more educated in Judaism and life skills. There will be community service aspects, amazing trips around Israel and more. I will be able to spend 10 months in the home of the Jewish people, Israel, discovering
Israel, Judaism and myself.

I have been accepted to the Machon Mayan Seminary in Ashdod. Unfortunately, finances have always been an issue for me and my siblings growing up with just my mom. Fortunately, however, I have been able, with the help of my rabbis, youth groups, MASA and a generous scholarship from Machon Maayan itself to put together $21,000 of the $25,000 cost to attend this program. That leaves $4,000 that I must raise.
