In February, Kayla suffered a type of stroke that has currentlyleft her largely incapacitated, and still hospitalized, and now because of Covid-19, isolated from all of her family. Her husband, Eric, is trying so hard to keep going through each day and keeping things as positive as he can for his little family. This is complicated even more, as he has been laid off of work, the kids are now out of school, and their little boy has Type 1 Diabetes. We all are hopeful that our sweet Kayla will recover from this, but her doctors have told Eric it could be months. She is unable to speak, but she has shown small little signs of progress. Things like a big smile, or the slightest nod. Baby steps, yet each one is a small victory.
Kayla is normally so full of life and love and laughter, and just brings sunshine wherever she goes. We all miss that so much and pray for the day that she will “come back” to us, again. It is so heartbreaking to have little ones crying in the middle of the night because they miss their mom.
She has always made the sweetest birthday cakes for her family, but she will be missing Richie’s 7th birthday. There is SO much stress in our world as it is and this is the top of the stress meter for Eric and family.
No one ever wants to be in a position of having to ask for help. It is humiliating when there is already so much worry and despair. We thank you in advance, if you can help at all. And we assure you that every penny will go toward sheltering and protecting Kayla’s family, helping out with her ongoing medical expenses and helping keep Richie covered with his diabetic supplies, etc. It takes a village – truly. If you can only help with a prayer or good thoughts for Kayla and family, that is appreciated so much, as well. God bless!
