The situation
It is with great sadness, yet great optimism, that we write to inform you that our mother, grandmother, sister, teacher and a greatest community supporter; Mazal Shlomzion Sinvany, has recently been diagnosed with a stage 4 ovarian cancer. Those of you who know Mazal know how much of a fighter she is; this upcoming battle will be no exception. As you can imagine, there are so many uncertainties ahead: the effects of chemo/radiation (long term and short term), our complicated health care system, the cancer itself, and many other more anxieties that arise given the situation. We are very blessed to have the support of everyone around us. Just in these few weeks, many of you have already extended your compassion and generosity in a variety of ways, one of which was the suggestion of setting up this fundraising page.
Mazal's recovery process
The upcoming months will consist most likely of aggressive chemotherapy and radiation. The cancer has been diagnosed at stage 4 and doctors are anticipating several months of treatment and recovery. Fortunately, Mazal has a compassionate team of doctors and family and friends who are organizing logistics. We are so grateful (as is Mazal) to have the solid support system that surrounds her. We thank you all with all our might.
Your donation
The money raised here will be applied to the slew of medical bills headed Mazal's way. With every exam, comes a large co-pay; with every medicine prescribed, more co-pays. Additionally, treatment and follow-ups will cost an excessive amount of money that go well beyond even the most expansive insurance coverage. At the moment Mazal is in Israel and all medical expenses are basically out of the pocket. We appreciate all help. God bless you and thanks for taking the time to get involved.
