Mayra and Maya's Family

Hi, My name is Kristen and some friends/colleagues and I are starting this page in support of Maya Ortiz, Mayra Bolden and the whole Ortiz-Bolden Clan. I have worked with Mayra for many years at MelroseWakefield and can say she's one of the most dedicated, empathetic, kindest people I've ever met.

Unfortunately, shockingly- Maya- Mayra's beautiful, 18 year old daughter was recently diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

While Maya should be spending time enjoying her Senior year of high school she has surgery and chemo in her immediate future.

Mayra, SuperMom, will need some time away from work to care for her child during this epic battle.

Mayra started as a nurse at MelroseWakefield in 2014.

She worked for years on Medical 5 as an RN, powering through the COVID pandemic to finish Nurse Practitioner school. For the last two years, she's been part of TeamHealth and is currently the Lead NP for the Hospitalist program at MelroseWakefield Hospital.

As anyone who has worked with her knows, Mayra's compassion, skill, knowledge, patience and kindness makes her an amazing medical provider. Now she'll have to take those skills to the other side of the bed and focus her attention on her #1 patient- her daughter!
