Mayo's Journey to Recovery

Donation protected
I'm sure many of you have already heard but our boy Coleton is currently in the fight of his life!! On Tuesday 1/3/23 Coleton was struggling with his Mental Health, as many of us have unfortunately been through ourselves from time to time. On that night, depression managed to win in the moment, we now find ourselves in a Neuro Intensive Care Unit holding our breath in between meetings with doctors and holding out hope.

We thought we had lost him for 4 whole days as his family, friends and SOOO many others, who's lives he has touched, sat in the waiting room and took turns being by his bedside. Just fighitng off the doubts as they crept in and praying for a miracle... because we truly needed a miracle!!

On Saturday morning, as we came in early like we had been for days, scared of what the day was going to hold. We found out Coleton was deciding to fight!! He was going to fight for his life!!!

We are not sure what the future holds for Coleton but we are being told this will be a minute-to-minute, day-to-day thing and the real fight for recovery has only just begun. The path forward will more than likely not be short or easy.

I'm sure you could only imagine what his family and friends are going through right now. We have all watched his parents for MANY years support their son while, fighting the fight, for him on the sidelines of his games.

It has been truly inspiring watching as they put all those years of perfecting the art of supporting from the sidelines, of the fields and courts to use in the battle Colt faces today. FIGHTING for their son's life and inspiring people to not give up hope and to keep believing and praying for Coleton's recovery, even when it seemed so unlikely and dark!!! They never stopped they just held faith and were unwavering in their belief in their son!!

The family has also been trying to help Coleton's young friends through this hard time by asking social workers to be present and to talk with the 17, 18, and 19-year-old kids that are coming to visit their son! Handing out information with helpline numbers on it so they can raise awareness that THERE IS HELP out there and it's okay to ask for it!!!

Today we are taking it upon ourselves to ask for help for this family. While we weren't sure at first what kind of help we would be asking for, we now know that Coleton decided to fight!!! We are asking you to help and please join us in Coleton's fight!!! I'm sure you can imagine if this was your kiddo you would not want to leave their side or any stone unturned regarding treatment options. Anything you can give to help would be such a BLESSING to his family and Coleton! We are unsure where our journey will take us and what costs we will incur along the way, but what we do know is that any monies collected that are not used in Coleton's recovery will be donated to Teen Suicide Prevention group or groups. We thank you in advance for any help you are willing to donate, and welcome any and all that are willing to join in this fight.

Sending so much love to ALL that are affected by this story and to anyone and everyone who's lives have been impacted by suicide!!
