On July 7, 2026, Maynard’s physical song came to a quiet close, and he transitioned peacefully from this earth, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, melody, and profound love. While the music has quieted here on earth, the beautiful melody of Maynard's life will play in our hearts forever. We take comfort in knowing he has found his final, peaceful harmony, somewhere jamming out in the skies and watching over the many people he loved so fiercely.

To know Maynard was to know a man who lived and breathed music—it was his universal language. He found a piece of his soul in every lyric and chord, connecting deeply with the stories told through song. Whether he was picking at his guitar strings, singing his heart out, or simply jamming out to his favorite tracks, he felt the heartbeat of it all, from the raw energy of heavy metal to the soulful storytelling of country.

Maynard lived his life aloud, fueled by a deep passion for the things that brought him freedom and joy. Beyond his music, he loved the simple pleasures of life—whether he was out on the water waiting for a bite with a fishing pole in hand, or cruising around enjoying the open road in his car or on his motorcycle.

But even greater than his love for music and the open road was his immense love for people. Maynard possessed the rare, beautiful quality of an "old soul." He walked through life always worrying about everyone else, placing the comfort and happiness of his family and friends above his own. He was the ultimate protector and confidant—truly just a single phone call away, no matter where he was or what he was doing. If you needed a helping hand, a listening ear, or a steady presence, Maynard was always there, with a heart that was forever tuned to the needs of others.

During this time of immense grief, the goal is to rally around his loved ones and take away the stress of sudden financial burdens. This fund will help cover funeral and memorial expenses, as well as many unexpected costs—including flying several of his family members back home to Nova Scotia so everyone can be together to say their goodbyes.
Please consider contributing if you are able, or sharing this page to help spread the word. Thank you so much for your love, support, and for keeping Maynard and his family in your thoughts.

A celebration of life will be at the Alma Fire Hall on August 16th from 1-4pm
