This beautiful child, Lani, was hit by a car in E-town and her family is in crisis.
Lani loved baths, swimming, Elmo, dancing, and could already work her Momma's cell phone. She was amazing!
Lani was a daddy's girl - so smart, and she carried such wonderful personality around with her.
Lani was already an animal lover, often found cuddling with the family dog, Max.
Lani's Momma and Daddy, Gracey Portner and Michael Slaughter, cannot endure this alone. Please respect their privacy at this time.
The loss of a child is insurmountable. The days, weeks, months, and years ahead will be filled with grief unlike any other.
Funds are needed ASAP, especially during a time when the economy is difficult enough to navigate without an added crisis. Funds will be allocated toward funeral expenses, with any remaining going to Lani's family for their immediate needs.
All proceeds go directly to the family. I am an intermediary (family member) who just wants to relieve financial stress for the parents. It takes a community to build up a family that has gone through a tragedy. Thank you for your support.

Your relationship or contact to the parties you're raising funds for: Lani is the granddaughter of my sister-in-law.
How the funds will be spent (be as specific as possible): Funeral expense, road marker if desired at the accident site, and incidental expenses related to job loss and other misc. expenses related to such a major tragedy.
Your withdrawal plan to get the funds from the fundraiser to the person that they're intended for: I am not withdrawing the funds myself. Either Lani's Mom, Dad, or Nanna will do that directly. I will not access the funds at any time.
