Maydean’s “Handle the Business” Fund

Many of you know that Maydean was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in the spring of last year. As expected, she put up a hell of a fight against cancer, undergoing multiple rounds of chemotherapy and radiation. Unfortunately, because pancreatic cancer is one of the most aggressive and difficult cancers to treat, her attempts at treatment were unsuccessful. Maydean passed peacefully with her loved ones by her side on February 15th, 2025.

To know Maydean was to love her. Her warmth and vibrancy filled every room she entered, and her witty humor kept everyone around her on their toes. Like a shepherd to a flock, Maydean looked out for her family and friends constantly, helping and guiding us in any way she could. The number of lives she touched in her role as a social worker, therapist, and recovery advocate is innumerable. She will always be remembered by her infamous sayings such as, “the bottom line is…”, and “business is business!”

Plans are currently being made to send Maydean off with the celebration of life service she deserves. If you are able, please consider honoring her legacy by donating any amount to assist the family with Maydean’s funeral expenses.
