Dear Friends and Family,
I grind my teeth asking for a hand-out but this is too important to be proud.
As many of you know, late last year I took a big leap — with minimal start-up capital, securing a soon-to-be-removed digital gallery space in the Todd Mall to build a VR and digital media hub for Central Australia.
Maybe Eat Media brings together 20 years of my life here: working alongside First Nations communities, building youth programs, supporting education and wellbeing, and developing new ways to use technology meaningfully. https://maybeeatmedia.com/
Over the past month, Alice has experienced what is being described as a '100 Year Flood'. Unexpected heavy rains have caused significant damage to the site. Water ingress affected parts of the space, including equipment, seating, and interiors — all before insurance had been finalised.
In short, the timeline to opening has been severely disrupted. I have none of the planned, essential revenue flowing when I need it most. I have repair and refit costs. I have rent looming and stress levels on par with a visually-impaired shark masseuse.
The good news is that repairs are nearly complete, and the venue is close to opening.
The challenge is that my start-up capital is now almost exhausted at the final hurdle.
I’m reaching out to ask for short-term support to help get me over the line.
Your contribution will go toward:
• repairing and replacing damaged equipment
• restoring the space (paint, seating, signage)
• covering immediate rent and operating costs
• securing the venue while we activate revenue streams
This is a temporary gap — not a long-term problem — but it’s a critical one.
With 'breathing space' I can shift fully into delivery: launching programs in digital literacy, oral history, First Language education, youth engagement, and health-focused initiatives.
If you’re in a position to contribute — of any size — it would make a genuine difference right now.
If not, sharing this with someone who might be able to help would also mean a lot.
This space is nearly there. It just needs a final push.
Thank you for being part of the journey.
Felix
