Hello wonderful people! I'm setting up this fundraiser to help our dear friend and sister Maya cover some of her recent medical and living expenses.

 

Maya has been struggling with mental illness for a long time and after a serious episode this summer, it has left her without work, home and money. In October, Maya found the strength to go inpatient and has made strides in accepting and moving forward in her healing process. Although there has been progress, Maya still has a long journey of treatment to getting back on her feet again and it may be some time before she can successfully return to work.

 

I'm asking for your help to support our dear friend Maya in her time of need. No contribution is too small and every penny of it will go a long way to helping her get their health and life back on track. We are hoping to pay for a comprehensive and intensive inpatient recovery program that is not available through anything not private. This level of treatment will allow Maya to leave with the tools she needs to continue healing and rebuilding her life. Maya is also transgender, and is in the middle of transitioning. It is vital for her to continue this process and your support will also help her towards gender affirming procedures that will allow her to live authentically. She looks forward to one day returning the support back to her community.
