Maya's Physical Transition Fund

Hi everyone! My name's Maya. I'm a nerdy human with a generally positive outlook on life and a dark, quirky sense of humor. I'm a (sort of) accomplished musician and love to entertain folks down at the Burlington, VT waterfront, and I hope to have albums someday and maybe even use my music to help folks therapeutically. I'm a loyal friend, a lover of Pachamama, and a hard-learning extension of Consciousness.

 

Oh, and I also happen to be a transgender woman. Hence, this fund-raiser.

 

I'm raising money to help fund a transition-related surgery I'm having on June 9th, 2022. My mom has been kind enough to help me with the bulk of the costs, but the surgeon felt other things needed to be done that added an unexpected $2,500 to the price. The money I'm raising would cover the additional cost. I'll give my mom any additional funds over $2,500 to help her recoup some of her money.

 

While this is a surgery that insurance companies consider elective, it's a procedure I have felt for nearly ten years would make me feel more comfortable in my body and maybe help me lead a happier and healthier life. I've had my physical transition on hold for a long time due to significant life changes, struggles with depression, and lack of funds. This procedure is the best chance for me to finish this part of my journey.
