Mayari's Cancer Treatment Fund

Hello friends and friends of friends! My family and I are asking for your help in saving the life of a very special person.
We are raising money for Mayari Rizzo--a vibrant, hard-working, 45 year-old single mother of two in Guatemala. She battled ovarian cancer in 2017 and went into remission. Sadly it's back, and it's time for her to fight again.
Mayari began aggressive chemotherapy treatment again last month and is expected to continue until 2021. She will be unable to work for least six months.
Because of the advanced stage of her cancer, and because of Guatemala's depleted healthcare system, she needs private medical treatment in order to stand a chance. Luckily, private care in Guatemala is much less expensive than the US, so a little will go a very long way.
We are incredibly grateful for any contributions you can manage to help us cover the following expenses:
- medications
- chemotherapy treatments
- doctors' expenses
- medical facility expenses
- living expenses for 6 months for herself and her two sons (food, rent, bills, school supplies)
Cancer never feels fair. And in Mayari’s case it feels especially so. She's always had an infectious lust for life, a shining optimism, and a deep rooted wisdom that makes her so special to those who know her. She's raised two incredibly kind and intelligent boys on her own. She's been both provider and nurturer, always leading with love and enthusiasm.
Mayari has so much life left to live and so much left to give. Than you for helping us get her the medical care that she needs in order to beat this horrific disease. This world needs her spirit!
