Namaste!

The time has finally aligned! I am happy to announce that I will be enrolling in the Radiant Warrior Online Yoga & Mindfulness
200 hour Yoga Alliance Teacher Training Certification with Yoga Farm  Ithaca, a 501c3 nonprofit organization!

Classes begin next Wednesday, September 23rd and I couldn't be more excited to start my journey of spreading peace to the hearts of hurt communities. However, tuition for the 12-week fall course is $1,499.00.

This is where I'm calling all of the community leaders, yoga advocates, inspired colleagues, educators who are pushing for yoga-based enrichment programs, and supportive family and friends to help me make this dream come true! My goal is $2000. This fundraising goal will allow me to participate in the full experience of the course by covering books, supplies, and material fees.

Below, you will find my inspiration for becoming a young, black yogi implementing access and opportunity among underrepresented youth, families who have been affected by domestic violence, and minority communities at large

I truly appreciate your support. Thank you for manifesting with me!

I often struggled with the idea of educators recommending athletic teams, school clubs, or dance classes as an extracurricular activity towards minority students to release aggression and trauma from daily triggers. In return, yoga has been perceived by the black and brown community as a "fairytale" seen in movies that upper-class women, in predominantly white communities, would have the privilege of practicing. Many times, yoga has had minimal to no representation of yogis of color and yoga accessibility within minority educational systems and neighborhoods. My goal is to change this narrative!

Historically, until the popularization of holistic wellness practices, yoga was not suggested to children of color in Western culture who have needed to align themselves with their inner peace while addressing mental health concerns. I believe creating safe spaces for individuals of all ages to find happiness and comradery in hostile environments, is part of my life's calling.

As a two-time survivor of domestic violence, being recognized as an advocate of relationship abuse awareness in Western New York, a keynote speaker at the 2019 Voices Ending Violence Fundraising Breakfast of the Family Justice Center, and a United Way of Buffalo and Erie County task force committee member--I intend to bring peace and non-violence to my community, and communities at large, through mindfulness and trauma-informed yoga.
