Benjamin, and over 100 other disabled students like him cannot attend school on a regular basis.  Why?  There is only ONE school available for students that have physical and/or learning difficulties. That school is located miles from their rural homes in and around Lake Atitlan, Guatemala.       There is NO transportation provided for them, as we are accustomed to in the United States. The parents of these children, often single mothers, can not afford the cost of using  public transportation to the ONE school designed for Special Needs children in Panajachel,  near Lake Atitlan, Guatemala.  Some of these children live miles from the school, in rural poverty,  and are unable to travel alone.
