St Peter's GAC, Liverpool Wolfe Tones GAA and St Lawrence's GAA are competing against one another to raise money for their chosen charity.
Members from each club are hitting the road to run 16th-17th May. The distances from each person will be added together within their club. The club with the greatest distance ran will win.
All money raised will be divided equally among the 3 charities.
St. Peters- Stamp Out Suicide.
Stamp Out Suicide (Registred Charity No: 1171162 ) is a counselling service for anyone in England, Scotland and Wales living with suicidal thoughts. Call us free on 07766-808-222. We are here to listen and provide free ongoing over the phone counselling and help people get through their darkest moments.
Suicide is not something that hits out at any one select group of people, it can come knocking on anyone's door at any time of day or night.
Liverpool Wolfe Tones- CARA/ Irish Community Care
Many members of our communities are older, in poor health; many of us live alone far from family and friends. We are truly inspired by the generosity and commitment of our communities in providing a helping hand or a listening ear; so important in helping people to get through the Covid 19 pandemic.
To date we have recruited over 60 volunteers and been able to support people in getting food parcels, shopping, prescriptions and providing a friendly chat. Going forward we are asking our volunteers to help our people to get online and make the most of their phone/computer to connect with family and friends and enjoy the amazing activities online that keep us all well and connected during Covid 19.
St. Lawrence's- St. Francis' Children's Hospice.
St Francis children’s hospice Francis House supports approximately 2,000 people at any one time with respite care, homecare, sibling support, end of life care and emotional and bereavement support.
All support and donations are greatly appreciated.
