URGENT: Seniors Displaced After North Vancouver Apartment Fire
The morning of Saturday, May 10, 2025, a devastating fire tore through the Silverlynn Apartments in North Vancouver, a residence for seniors in Lynn Valley. Flames engulfed the building, partially collapsing it—leaving 70 vulnerable residents displaced and frightened. Some have their lives reduced to a garbage bag of content. Firefighters arrived within minutes and bravely rescued seniors from balconies as black smoke filled the air. Thanks to their efforts, lives were spared—but for many, everything else has been lost.
Some residents have been treated for smoke inhalation, and most have escaped with nothing but the clothes on their backs. A section of the building under renovation has completely collapsed, and the future of the occupied portion remains uncertain.
Now, these seniors need our help.
