'MAXX_D' is an experimental body horror short film that explores the violent and insidious impact of Internet subcultures. Themes explored include pornography, Incel culture, toxic masculinity, "looksmaxxing", isolation and gendered violence.

Over the course of one evening, we follow one young man as he grapples with his relationship to the virtual world, and how much he is willing to give of himself, literally, to partake in it. In a world that is so desensitised to arousal, camgirls masquerade as grotesque bird-monsters, and taunt him to join them in their twisted, depraved world.

Inspired by the films of Gaspar Noé, David Lynch, David Cronenberg and Michael Haneke, this is an intimate, surreal and graphic look at the isolation experienced by so many in today's world, how far the individual can be pushed to tolerate it, and our collective complicit nature in the Internet machine. Far from being facetious, this film aims to do justice, and hopefully create empathy, for the individuals who have lost so much due to the battery of toxic online rhetoric, especially today's young male population (although in a camp and darkly humorous way).

This film has been recently completed. All cast & creatives were so generous to dedicate their time for free, and I single-handedly self funded the rest of the production expenses. This fundraiser is to help with short film festival submissions, worldwide, allowing me to showcase the amazing and maverick work of our team.
