Our brother Maxwell Lee Smith, Jr., age 58 of Jackson, Mississippi, had a hemorrhagic stroke on 4/8. Maxwell is a welder by trade and due to the pandemic and wage loss was unable to pay his medical coverage premium.
He is now faced with several medical issues. The stroke was on the right side of the brain thus causing the inability to move the left side of his body, vision problem (left eye) and some memory loss. He spent twelve days in ICU and fourteen days in step-down care before transferring to a regular floor. He will soon need to go to rehabilitation. He is unable to care for himself and needs 24 hour medical assistance.
Medical emergencies can happen to any of us at any given moment, but I am a firm believer that there is a miracle
in this medical emergency. Maxwell Smith, Jr. needs financial assistance to regain his independence and return towhat he enjoys: welding and the great outdoors. Please give from your heart so he can continue medical treatmentand rehabilitation at a swing-bed facility. All funds are strictly for his care at a state approved nursing facility.
Blessed people Bless people. Time is of the essence!
Update: Maxwell is currently at a Cleveland Rehabilitation Ctr. in Cleveland, MS at a cost to us of $5200 monthly. Please continue to pray for him as the left side of his body is slow in regaining strength and use.
Update: Maxwell is home adjusting to the new norm. Please pray for him as he has yet to regain use of the left arm and hand. Uninsured, we still have many medical bills to pay.
