I was a small 5 year old boy when I first met Mike. Lunchbox in hand, already missing my mom, I didn’t know what Kindergarten had in store for me. It was a scary new world, but on that day I met a young boy... bowl cut, big smile… who would help make the journey of life an easier one, that boy was Mike, and he would become my best friend.


Mike, passed away on June 21, 2019. Mike was a proud father and loving companion who spent time with his family and friends hiking, playing video games, and vacationing in Maine. Mike loved rap music, horror and classic movies, and riding motorcycles. Mike was known as an avid gym rat who loved “bulking season” and the Philadelphia Eagles.

So what is this GoFundMe for?
Mike is survived by his three month old son, Maxwell Archer Drury and his best friend and soulmate Joan Mbugua. I've never seen Mike so happy as he was with the two of them in his life. His legacy lives on through Maxwell.


Maxwell is well looked after by Mike's surviving family, but a small group of us who loved Mike want to have our own part in showing our love for Maxwell. With the help of Mike's family we'll be starting a college/trade school fund for the budding 3 month old and donating monthly until he's 18.

We all know Mike would have done everything he could to spoil little Maxwell. While Max may not be able to remember Mike, his legacy will live on through the lives he touched, and the hugs and stories we share.
