Max's Top Surgery Fundraiser

I am non-binary/ trans masc person living in Glasgow and starting this page to help fund my top surgery.

*Top surgery is a safe process to remove my chest tissue.

Unfortunately, with the waiting times of surgery and GIC appointments within the NHS, I have chosen to proceed with this surgery privately and abroad, where I will hopefully travel to Poland in the next year or two. I have saved some money to fund around a third of this surgery but unfortunately cannot afford the whole costs including travel at this point in my life. I feel very privileged that this surgery can be a gender affirming option for me and I acknowledge that this is not possible for some people to undergo.

Receiving top surgery will be life changing for me as I have experienced huge gender and body dysmorphia throughout my whole life. Words cannot describe how beneficial this procedure will be for my quality of life, as I struggle, both physically, mentally and emotionally with having a large chest.

I came out as non-binary around 3 years ago and I have found incredible support and love from the trans community in Glasgow! Here, I have been able to explore my gender and physical expression within a less judgemental and safer environment and I feel very grateful to have learnt from my trans besties who have undergone this/various procedures.

I am so incredibly proud to be trans and the process of getting top surgery would be extremely healing for me, something I have been dreaming of for so many years. Since I was a child, I have been binding my chest in various ways and dressing in a way which would make my chest look more flat. I would love to be able to stop minimising and hiding my chest in these uncomfortable and dysphoric ways. I would love to tell my younger self that this procedure was finally possible for me. I would love to better respect my beautiful body.

I am overwhelmed with emotion and excitement at the thought of making my past, present and future self happier, safer, more comfortable and proud to be myself.
