Hi my name is Barnaby, I'm a c5 c6 quadriplegic which means I am paralyzed from the chest down from an accident approx 11 years ago. In anticipation of the kids growing up and going to college we decided I should have a companion and service dog so approx 2 years ago we got Max . The training we started was free but I had to be present and due to medical issues I could not attend weekly sessions.
I'm always out and about if the weather permits and him being with me can be vital. Unfortunately it's become increasingly difficult to have him with me out alone due to his lack of training and extreme timid nature, he gets freaked out easily then tangles in my chair. It ends up being very stressful and dangerous for both of us. I have found a trainer in the valley that can take him to fully train then return him in a month. They are willing to work with me splitting the cost with a down payment first then the remaining upon completion with the whole cost at about $2595.00. I have a very limited income and just can not afford this anytime soon. I am asking for donations because having Max fully trained and able to protect and assist me in daily activities in and out of the home would mean having independence that I have not had in 11 years and would allow me to navigate out on my own with confidence.
Thank you you so much in advance for whatever you can contribute.
