Dear friends, family, and possible strangers,

With the heaviest amount of humility, Jena and I have started this Gofundme page for our boy Max's recent medical journey. We've never been ones to ask for financial support, let alone any support at all. Our path has always been a life of pulling up our bootstraps and moving forward on our own. But we'd do anything in our power for our best boy.

For those who may not know, Max developed Leukemia a year and a half ago. Having been caught early, he was given an outlook of possibly two years plus. Four weeks ago (March 1st) he contracted what seemed like an eye infection. Two weeks ago (Friday the 13th) he was extremely off and after an emergency room visit it was determined he was developing Lymphoma tumors. The worst, most notably behind his right eye.

He still showed so much vigor for life that it was a unanimous decision to proceed with an extensive 20 week Chemo program. Initial prognosis was another 6 to 12 more months of quality life.

After the first treatment things were hopeful. Then, devastatingly, on March 30th, things took a drastic downturn. Max's Leukemia numbers re-appeared and he became anemic and weak. At this point we've elected to stabilize his condition in order to give him a few more days to be with us at home and allow anyone who knows and loves him to say goodbye.

We've stretched every angle we could with the vet bills, meds and treatment, and have spent about $25,000 to keep him comfortable and preserve his quality of life. By no means will this Gofundme help pay for everything, but perhaps it can help us get back on our feet.

Again, I cannot express how humbling it is to do this, but we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to be a part of Max's story and sharing your love for his gentle soul. With all our love, we know he lived his best life.
