Hi, my name is Bethany and I'm fundraising for my brother, Kolton, and his wife, Maxine. On July 11th, they welcomed their second beautiful baby girl in to the world!
After being discharged with a wonderful, healthy baby, Maxine began experiencing signs of postpartum preeclampsia.
She went back and forth to the hospital as an outpatient for three days, and eventually was admitted with PPCM (peripartum cardiomyopathy), a heart failure resulting from preeclampsia.
She has been in the hospital, away from her family and newborn daughter for four days, with more on the horizon as the cardiologists work on balancing her medications.
Due to their current work, neither Maxine or Kolton have benefits that cover maternity leave, but were going to use savings to cover a small amount of time before returning to work. With this new development, comes extra costs: hospital stays, meals, new medications, and most importantly: Maxine will likely not be able to return to work as soon as planned, leaving a large hole in their finances on top of having a newborn.
The funds from this will go towards giving Maxine and her family relief from the extra pressure put on by this medical emergency. It will help pay their rent, get groceries, diapers, and the new medication Maxine will need to manage the heart failure. Maxine is the primary earner in the family, and meeting these costs of living will not be possible without her income. This gofundme will allow Maxine time to recover and learn to live with the heart failure, and spend precious time with her girls and husband.
Any amount is appreciated and gratitude is given. Thank you all, God bless.
