Summer Music Camp for Maximus

Hi! My name is Maximus Gurath, and I have been playing the cello since I was 4 years old.  (I'm 12 now.) I was just notified that I have been accepted into the Advanced Strings Program of the Summer Arts Camp  at Interlochen, Michigan.  Being one of the two cellists to be  accepted (from 6-9th grade)  is an amazing oppurtunity and a great honor that I do not want to waste! It is a world famous camp, and I have already received a scholarship in the amount of $5,000  With a total tuition cost of $8,380, that means I need to raise about $3,500 in order to go to camp.  (My grandparents pay for my lessons and for my cello, and I have 4 sisters, and I could tell you lots of other stuff, but there just isn't a bunch of money sitting around our house.)

Last summer I had the very special oppurtunity to go to the junior advanced strings, and it was the best experience I have ever received in my music career! Being the principal cellist of the junior chamber orchestra, I played in a quartet, had lessons with amazing teachers that come to teach throughout the USA, and had special activities involving music throughout the whole day! When I came back, all of my teachers said my playing skills had improved very much!! So, this year if I went back (this time intermediate advanced strings) I am totally certain I will have the time of my life.

I'm hoping you'll help me go to camp.  Be sure to check out the video (you can't miss it...it's on top of the page) of me playing with the South Dakota Symphony  from December.  I got to perform with them because I won the Young Musician's Concerto Competition.  

I look forward to going into music for my career, and this will help me a lot! Thank you thank you thank you for your help so that I can go to camp June 27th to August 10th.  (Yep, six weeks of playing my cello.  Sounds like a great time to me!)
